FOR more than 120 years, Ramondin has been making capsules for the U.K. market. It has good commercial relationships with the main companies in the area and over the last few years has improved its clients’ portfolio in one of the most important production and trading areas in the world.
What are the keys for the growth and stability of Ramondin in this market? The support of an expanding business, a close partnership with its customers, new product development, and overall, guaranteed good service.
An expanding business
Being aware of the current global recession, Ramondin has been able to adapt to the changing situation and continue its worldwide expansion. Ramondin has invested more than 5 million euros in Research and Development as the company is focused on offering a quality product. Ramondin has already increased its worldwide expansion with a 20% rise in revenue in the previous year and great expectations for the current year’s figures.
Guaranteed Service
With the target of ensuring delivery within the established terms, and having in place possible contingencies, Ramondin has two production plants; one in Spain and another in France.
An innovative customer relationship
An integral aspect of sustainable growth is the cooperation of Ramondin with its customers, and in particular, innovations which serve to increase the value of their products. Such innovations include: traceability tools, anti-faking, new sizes...
New products
But this innovation goes further than working together with its customers. The Spanish company has introduced into the market new products such as aluminium capsules, screw caps and improvements in other product ranges for wines, liqueurs, oil and champagne like tin or polylaminate caps.
Impeccable Service
Product quality is closely linked to an important service guarantee. Ramondin has its own staff and direct distribution channel in the U.K.; with commercial representative Lynne Arbuckle and commercial manager Diego Cuesta working directly with the customers, and using local warehouses to guarantee the distribution of the product in the East and West of the UK within the established terms.
This certification, which joins the recently obtained Integrated Environmental Authorization, guarantees the safety of the caps and assures that they can come into contact with food products.
Ramondin, the world leader in capsule manufacturing, has obtained AENOR´s BRC-IOP certificate of food safety for the screw cap, a new product line launched by the firm in late 2010. The objective of this certification, awarded by AENOR last March, is to assure that Ramondin complies with the health regulations that would guarantee the products safety. With the screw cap system, the product comes in direct contact with the beverage. For this reason, and given the quality that we require at Ramondin, we considered it a priority to obtain the BRC-IOP certification.I stated Jon Iguiñiz, Sales Manager of Ramondin.
Ramondin, the world leader in capsule manufacturing, has gone one step further in its pledge to sustainable development and environmental protection by securing the Integrated Environmental Authorization (AAI) for all of its production lines, including the screw cap, launched in late 2010. This authorization (AAI) was granted in January of this year and serves to “turn Ramondin, once again, into an undisputed point of reference within the sector and the Spanish industry by reinforcing its commitment to the environment, to society, and to its clients”, according to Jon Iguiñiz, the sales manager of the firm.
The Integrated Environmental Authorization is an accreditation that incorporates the up-to-date existing environmental authorizations of the sector (waste production and management, disposal authorization, etc.). The goal is to protect the environment as a whole, applying the principles of environmental control in an integrated fashion, in order to prevent the transfer of contamination from one surface to another. To do this, Ramondin imposes for each installation specific limits on all environmental factors (air, water, noise, waste, floors), as well as plans to monitor them.
